The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Microsoft Exchange Administrator to join our growing team. The Exchange Administrator is the individual who has the primary responsibility of setting up and managing a Microsoft Exchange server environment. They assist in setting up user accounts and mailboxes along with backup, security, and file restoration. They perform routine server maintenance, configure new users and are called on as the first point of contact for problems relating to email or Exchange.
Role Specific Duties:
  • Provide day-today support to client email systems
  • Operating, managing, processing, provisioning, and troubleshooting of Exchange email systems, mobile and collaboration services.
  • Managing and operating email routing devices and services
  • Maintaining email distribution lists
  • Assist in management of server infrastructure
  • Provide server migration along with backup and disaster recovery
  • Designating alias addresses for end-user mailboxes
  • Supporting issues related to group mailboxes and distribution lists
  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing where appropriate
  • Knowledge and support of Group policy
  • Upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate
  • Ensure Windows server availability compliance to Service Level Agreements
  • Promote and maintain server patch management practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mail routing issues that arise
  • Addressing operational system issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with S/MIME certificates and email encryption
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience with Microsoft Exchange
  • Knowledge of exchange migrations on premise, office 365, and hybrid environments
  • MSCE Certification preferred
  • Excellent understanding of all Microsoft Server versions from server 2008-2019
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server and related technologies including Exchange 2010 and Exchange mail systems.
  • Strong understanding of ADSI Edit
  • Understanding of Microsoft Skype
  • Knowledge of Blackberry Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) preferred
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Flexible, detail oriented, with excellent analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage tasks
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
