The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Migration Technical Lead to join our growing team. Role Specific Duties:
  • Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions
  • Lead projects within architecture. Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features
  • Utilize cloud tools (such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, AWS-Roles) to standardize, secure, and automate infrastructure deployment and management activities.
  • Design automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions, with a focus on application concerns, including cloud-ready distributed application architectures, migrating workloads to containers, containerized development workflows, and integrating container platforms
  • Planning, installing, configuring and troubleshooting of VMWare products
  • Well versed with Cluster Resource management and Cloud deployment AWS/Azure/other cloud platforms, including monitoring systems, logging and security implementation
  • Develop cloud native strategies and solutions for client requirements, leveraging platforms and methodologies such as PaaS/Agile/DevOps etc.
  • Installation, configuration, and development of applications using OpenShift including in a production environment
  • Troubleshoot orchestration, IaC, PaaS, containerization, CI/CD, and automated testing solutions
  • Drive forward specific areas of technology architecture. Provide architectural solutions/designs to project execution teams for implementation
  • Mentor and provide architectural guidance to multiple teams building innovative applications
  • Drive common vision, practices and capabilities across teams.
  • Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
  • Support multiple Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production
  • Write scripts and small utilities, automate deployments, and evaluate pipelines against industry and in-house standards
  • Experience in developing high performing server-side applications
Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering or Information Technology related major
  • 5+ years of professional software development and operations experience
  • 2+ years of experience with application design and development of microservices using Spring-Boot, Node.js, or Golang
  • 4+ years of experience with modern DevOps tools, such as Git, GitHub, and/or Jenkins
  • 3+ years of experience using OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • 2+ years of experience in Domain Driven Design to facilitate event storming sessions to identify functional domains and respective microservices
  • 2+ years of experience or certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • 2+ years of experience with virtual infrastructure design and hands on deployment.
  • Experience developing Architecture and Design documentation, implementation and test plans, SOPs, etc.
  • Experience using automation technologies such as Ansible to automate server builds, installation, configuration, and change management
  • Scripting experience (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, shell, WLST, JBoss CLI, Bash/KSH)
  • Strong experience of working with DevOps principles, CI/CD, Continuous Deployment Pipelines using Jenkins etc.
  • Working experience with cloud technologies
  • Experience with VMware vRealize and the planning, installing, configuring and troubleshooting of products such as: Operations Manager, Automation, Log Insight, Network Insight
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic and Cloudwatch
  • Experience working with application servers such as Apache Tomcat, Node. js, or RedHat JBoss
  • Understanding of network topology and technologies such as firewalls, load-balancers, DNS, VPN, NAT
  • Hands on experience with some of these tools: Sonar, Ant, Maven scripting tool, AppScan, Jacoco, bash/c/shell scripting, python
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations
  • Experience working in an Agile environment - supporting all aspects of the SDLC and processes
  • Special considerations will be given to HUBZone residents
